Same situation with most everything else. Starters are different depending on the engine but they bolt to holes in the transmission case that are in the same place. But, you can take a transmission that originally had a 3.89 final drive apart, substitute ALL the equivalent parts that correspond to a 3.16 final drive, and put it together in the same cases. For example, the input shaft gear and output shaft gear of a given gear set have to match, and the output shaft has to match the final drive because the pinion is part of the output shaft. Obviously certain parts need to operate together. i did post this in the non-tdi upgrades but wasn't getting any responses, if a mod is going to delete one of threads please delete the other one in the non-tdi upgrades, thanks again So basically, is the R&P from the tdi going to be a straight swap with a 1.8T tranny or am i gonna have to take the speedo gear out of the tdi tranny and swap it as well? also the fifth gear should fit from my tdi tranny into the 1.8T tranny right? i realize the final drive ratio is different, so can i take the R&P out of my tdi tranny, along with the fifth gear, and swap it into the the 1.8T/2.0 tranny that i'm getting? i'm also gettting a peloquin LSD so the R&P is coming out to begin with, but my other question is whether i'm going to have to change the speedo gear in the 1.8T/2.0 tranny or if they are the same gear as the 3.389 final drive ratio? This is not enough info to properly install a LSD because there is shimming/back spacing involved due to the installation of new bearings and races but it should give you an idea of what is involved.Hey my tranny is done, and i'm looking at getting a 1.8T or 2.0 O2J because i like the gear ratios in the first 4 gears, since i do a little 1/4 mile racing. The left overs of the 3rd gear syncro and hub I've done this twice now and not thought of it until a tech recomended itģrd gear syncro is destroyed and the syncronizer hub dropped a catch(dog) Now pounding them out (I should have just used an air hammer. Step 13 lift out the pinion shaft and now the diff and now you have completed taking your tranny apart or at least down to the sub assemblies Step 11:Unbolt the reverse linkage and remove the reverse shaft Step 10:Lift away the sfift linkage assembly Step 9 take a block of wood and hammer and separate the case halfs and lift the case off Step 8 remove all the 13mm bolts on the differential end of the case the 1st is on the bottom almost in between the linkage pivot points and the other it inside the 5th gear end case Step 6: remove the shift linkage pivot points 2 on top and 2 on the bottom Also I will add that I applied heat with a heat gun for a few minutes after I had the gear puller in place and ready to crank away. Last night I modified my craftsman gear puller a little more and I think I have made it very simple to do everytime now. Pulling the 5th gear: I pulled my DZSL SLC's 5th gear last night and it was easy but I've done it several times now. This one is from sears and I have not chipped a tooth yet on 5th gear but I've seen a VW tech chip some teeth before using the actual VW tool I have had to grind the prongs on the gear puller to fit between the case and the 5th gear. I screw in an allen bolt to center the gear puller Make certain you do not press on the end of the shaft directly. then you will need to pull the 5th gear off. and then you will need to remove the 5th gear syncro/hub assebmly with a gear puller. Step 4: Remove all the 13mm bolts and nuts inside the bell housing area The G60 and later VR6 shift towers have differnt thickness shafts and when swapping them you need to swap out the bottom cap/guide: It should be noted that when switching shift towers that there are differances to note. There are indents on the cap and tower to do this remove 13mm bolts and then heat the area around the sealant with a torch(propane) and then smack with a piece of wood and hammer the cap and shift tower from the side to spin them. Step 3 remove shift tower and bottom cap/guide. Step 2: remove output flanges with bolt from tranny case(threaded all the down shaft) Step 1: remove tranny oil before beginning Here is a link to my photo album with the full size pictures: just in case!! and here's a link to the component teardown by Pashat: Jeres a gallery on swapping an 02A in an A2 in case anybody wants'needs that: īTW loaded all the pix on my hardrive. If you need help, try using some online planetarium software like Stellarium or The Sky Live (make sure you enter your location, too). Credit: NASA/JPL-Caltech/Space Science Institute The shadow of the rings can be seen on the cloud tops as well. This Cassini image from 2011 shows the tail of the storm wrapping all the way around the planet. Saturn’s face can change: In 2010 an enormous storm broke out in Saturn’s northern hemisphere, discovered by an amateur astronomer. I'll note the next opposition of Saturn after this one is August 14, 2022. A million kilometers here or there hardly makes a difference (like, 0.1%), so no biggie if you can't get out to see it for a while. ![]() I'll note that this doesn't mean you have to rush out and see Saturn at that very moment! It'll be bright and essentially up all night for weeks, even months (as it has been for a while, too). The time it takes for Saturn, Earth, and the Sun to line up again is about 378 days (1.035 years) and that's the synodic period (from synod, from "related to a meeting", which is rather poetic). That 29-year orbital period of Saturn is measured against the background stars, so we call it the sidereal period (from sidus, meaning "star"). It's just like the hands on a clock the big hand sweeps around once per hour, but the little hand moves a little too during that time, so the big hand doesn't meet up again with it for a little more than a hour. But Saturn does orbit around the Sun, in the same direction as Earth does, so we have to spend a little bit of extra time catching up to it. If Saturn didn't move then opposition would occur once every Earth year. Earth is closer to the Sun and moves much more rapidly, completing an orbit in one year. Saturn takes about 29 years to orbit the Sun once. Win win win.Ī 9-image mosaic of Saturn as seen from the Cassini spacecraft, which orbited the planet for 13 years. So it's up all night, as big as it gets, and as bright as it gets. It's up all night! So by the time the sky gets good and dark Saturn should be up high enough off the eastern horizon to see, and will continue to rise until shortly after 01:00 local time, when it's due south and as high as it'll get in the sky. Bonus: because we're closest at opposition Saturn appears brightest, too.Īlso, since it's opposite the Sun in the sky, it rises when the Sun sets, and sets when the Sun rises. You can't see the size directly by eye - it's still pretty far away, so it appears as a star-like dot - but any sort of magnification aid like binoculars will help. At any other time in its orbit the Earth will be farther from Saturn, making it appear smaller, which is why this is a great time to look at Saturn. Another way to think of it is that Earth is directly between Saturn and the Sun, so our two planets are as close as they can be. We call this event opposition, because Saturn is opposite the Sun in the sky. That's still a long way - space is big, hence its name - but the planet will look incredible and gorgeous even through a small telescope. On Sunday night, August 1, the incredible beauty that is Saturn will be the closest it gets to Earth all year.Īt that time it will be about 1,336,700,000 kilometers from Earth. ![]() 8/9/2023 0 Comments Song from gotta kick it up![]() ![]() But it’s not really a sad song, just a gentle number about an affectionate thing that his own dad was fond of saying: “Put it there, if it weighs a ton.” Sir Paul’s always been good with those sentimental moments. But on this track from the buried-treasure 2000’s album, “Momofuku,” Costello is more than glad to be an old softie: “I love you more than I can say, I bless the day that you came to be.” Musically it sounds a bit like his classic “Alison,” so it’s a surprise this one fell through the cracks. Elvis Costello, “My Three Sons”īack when Elvis Costello was pegged as an angry young man, you never imagined he’d write a song like this. One of her sweeter and quieter tunes, it’s not one you’re likely to hear when she hits Gillette Stadium in August. She also makes the wish that her son and her husband will be just like her beloved dad. From her solo debut, “Daddy” may be the most pro-dad song ever written, not least because she sings the word “daddy” a few dozen times. Beyonce, “Daddy”īeyonce is many things, including one of the biggest pop stars in the world– but most of all, it seems she’s a devoted daughter. We’ll warn you in advance: This playlist is pretty heavy on our favorite older-guy rockers - because hey, it’s their day too. As usual we’ve mixed a few obvious choices in with a good handful of deeper cuts. In this case, Dad tends to get left out just a bit- – but we’ve combed our collections and come up with a playlist of mostly affectionate songs to play for Dad at a Father’s Day brunch. Mother’s Day playlists are always easy (and we’ve done a few over the years), because there are so many good pop songs about Mom. ![]() 8/9/2023 0 Comments Stateful firewall![]() ![]() We are also extremely happy to share that our core strength – our staff and vibrant team of professionals – will be transitioning into UNext to complement collective goals. Now, some people may complain that it is because Shouko is poorly developed as a character. We don’t learn much about Shouko due to his influence. However, since Shouya is the narrator of our story, he is also an unreliable one.
